Shelly Johnson, LCSW

Hello! My name is Shelly Johnson, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have worked in the mental health field for over 25 years and believe that our mental health affects every aspect of our lives. Throughout my career I have enjoyed working with individuals at different phases of development throughout the lifespan. My previous experience includes working with military families, individuals diagnosed with an eating disorder, adolescents and adults in inpatient hospital programs as well as community-based counseling services. I am a Certified EMDR therapist, who focuses on working with individuals, couples and families. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman, Sex therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Somatic therapy techniques. I work primarily with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, parenting issues, career/life transitions and family relationships. My therapeutic style is warm and engaging, challenging when necessary, direct but respectful. Emotional safety is a priority. I enjoy working with individuals that are ready to navigate a path towards healing, self-acceptance, forgiveness of self and others. I believe taking the time to address your mental health can be one of the greatest gifts to yourself and those you care about. If you are interested in making meaningful changes in your life, please reach out. I would welcome the opportunity to connect.
