Stress and Anxiety

Robin Feldman, LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over seventeen years of experience treating children, adolescents and adults.  I am trained and certified in EMDR and use it with both children and adults.  Over four years ago, I moved to the DC area from Boston where I owned a private practice for a few years.  Previously, I practiced psychotherapy for many years in a community mental health setting and started a child and family program in one of the organization's outpatient centers.   In addition, I have several years of experience working in the field of adoption.

My approach in working with clients is gentle and direct.  I have a talent of connecting with young children and teens which often supports treatment and recovery in moving more efficiently.  My philosophy lies in the area of family systems theory and I draw from several other psychological theories.  My areas of clinical expertise include traumatic stress, anxiety, fears, depression as well as behavioral, family and self-esteem issues.  I utilize a combination of modalities including play therapy, EMDR, parent guidance and behavioral modification.  I meet with individuals, families, and I lead groups.

The therapy I provide teaches my clients to identify and utilize their existing inner resources and strengths.  This approach coupled with the modalities I use leads to recovery and inner peace.
